Yaviza

Yaviza è una piccola cittadina della provincia del Darien. Si trova a 97 km dalla frontiera con la Colombia.

Qui finisce la strada Panamericana e inizia il Darién Gap.

La popolazione è poco più di 1.000 abitanti, molti dei quali discendenti di origine nera, indigeni Emberá e rifugiati colombiani.

Da vedere i resti del vecchio forte spagnolo che proteggeva l’ingresso alle miniere d’oro e il mercatino indigeno.
